He's a Buck!

Entry for 02.07.08

Two years ago, I killed my first buck! I'd never picked up a gun in my entire life. And I
still haven't. I was driving home around 9:00 in the evening. It was freezing. I reached
down to adjust the guage on the heater and blam! I hit a buck! He slammed across the
hood of my car into the windshield. It scared me to death. The deer scrambled of the
hood and bolted toward the woods. I got out but couldn't see because it was too
dark. I was only about 500 yards from the house so I went home to get my husband.
He came out with a flashlight and looked at my car. It broke the windshield, dented
the hood, and messed up the grill. We got in his truck and went back to look for the
deer. One would think that with that much damage to a vehicle, the deer would be in
pretty bad shape. We never found the deer, and to this day, my husband tells the
story about my mysterious buck.
